Jays vs Royals Game

Okay well its been a really long time since the last game so here's what happened.

Comming to the Stadium and lining up at the gates I looked around and saw a large crowd, usually I'd be scared about this because BP would be busy, but it was Pride Day and I knew It would be easy to snag balls. Going in I wanted to get 6 balls to reach 20 on the year, and it was close.

As soon as I ran into the stadium a ball went towards the foul line but I thought someone would pick it up right away, but it stayed there long enough for my friend to reel it in with his horn. I then saw another ball by the foul line and called out to Andrew Sisco for it, he said one sec and started jogging, a bit later a security guard picked it up and fired it in. Damn! I was mad cause I knew Tom the security guard cost me a ball, but then comes Andrew Sisco with a shiney new ball and tosses it to me. Ball #1

A minute later a ball sliced right at me and some other people. I was the furthest from it, but that wouldn't stop me for getting it. I lunged across the baseline wall sprawled across and didn't feel anything in my glove, but after closer inspection I saw that I just sno-coned the ball. Ball #2

Ball #3 was easy I was the only one who knew the Royals names so I just called out to Todd Wellemyer and he tossed one my way.

Ball #4 Came to me from Jimmy Gobble after he told me to give a ball to a little kid earlier.

BP ended and I was at 18 on the year, but I set a new record in one day so I was happy, but I wanted more. After the game I yelled out to Overbay for a ball he tossed it slowly, but it hit an usher and rolled on the dugout and my friend got it, soon after Bengie Molina tossed one up to some kids it bounced off them and right to me. Sweet! 5 balls in game one 19 on the year o yea!

Game 2

It was gun play no way day and if you had a toy gun you would get 2 tickets in the upper level so I was expecting more people during the game, but hopefull not during BP. As soon as the Royals took BP Joe Nelson grabbed a handful of ball and was handing them out to his teammates to warm up. "hey Joe can I have a ball" I asked, he just turned around and said "I have to play catch first ok?" Sweet I'm already going to get a ball I thought and it was going to be #20. Until Nelson was done warming up I positioned myself behind Jimmy Gobble as he was tossing around hoping to get another from him. But as soon as I moved there Nelson picked up a foul ball and tossed it my way. Ball #1 and #20 on the year.

As I was walking back to Gobble a foul ball flew 6 rows behind me, bounced back, got fumbled by a girl and right behind me where I jumped a seat and grabbed it. Ball #2. Gobble was done tossing but threw it to a kid. Speaking of kids, there were so many of them in Right field basline section and I had to get out of there, so I did. I headed to right center field and got denied by Jorge De La Rosa, Jimmy Gobble, Odalis Perez several times and by Scott Dohmann. I headed more towards center and saw Andrew Sisco. I didn't even have to say anything, just raised up
my empty glove and a ball flew into it. Ball #3 and that was it for that game. It wasn't a clean sweep in terms of balls, but it was 2 good days.

Blue Jays Back Alright!

I know a lot of people who are tuned into the AL race for a playoff spot think the Jays are out right no, but watch out they're comming back!

After taking 2 out of 3 against Baltimore and 3 out of 4 in Minnesota, the Jays are comming back and are just 7 games back of the playoff spot. So all of you guys think the Sox or Yanks will make the playoffs again, think again cause the Jays are comming back strong.

After a drought of not going to any baseball games, I finally ended my drought last Sunday, by going to a Jays game as they hosted the Sox. I wanted to take a lot of pics but sadly my camera died when I arrived at the stadium. I guess charging batteries for 15 minutres doesn't work.

My mind was more focused on snagging balls, which happens to be my new past time as soon as I found a cool blog by the "baseball collector" http://snaggingbaseballs.mlblogs.com. I've snagged a ball in the last 7 games I've been to and at least 3 in the last 2. Going into todays game I knew there would be a large crowd. The Chi Sox were in town, AJ Burnett was pitching and it was Cito Gaston bobblehead day.

As soon as I entered the stadium I saw a couple Jays tossing around by the left field baseline. I quickly ran down and saw that it was Downs and Tallet. I knew I could get a ball because Downs always seems to toss me a ball. In the 2 times I've seen him toss around he's given me the ball. Soon Chacin and Rosario were tossing as well and I decided to stand behind them and hopefully get a ball from Chacin. The pitchers stopped tossing and I yelled at Downs and sure enough I got a ball. As for Chacin he kept his ball.

Then I ran up to the dugout and tried to ask Jays pitching coach Arnsberg, but he didn't toss anything. Seeming desperate for another ball I scanned the field and saw Man Soo Lee and another Sox player. As I was running down I saw Chacin signing autos. I took full advantage of it and got a Chacin auto on the sweet spot on my ball, but I forgot to get my Chacin card signed. DAMN!

As I cleared the mob of people trying to get Chacin auto I ran to Man Soo Lee, but he was more busy dancing with Jon Garland than tossing out balls. He did toss a couple balls out but none to me. As for Jon Garland I got his auto on another ball. He must have signed a hundred autos as he signed the entire baseline comming into the dugout. Pretty nice guy.

And that was it for my snagging. I just got one ball, missed catching a softball in the homerun derby and got 2 autos from the "cursed" Chacin and Garland, but I missed Accardo signing and Marcum. In all it was a great game, the Jays ended their losing streak taking the game 7-3 and I got to sit behind the dugout for the end of the game.

Lilly, McDonald, Ernie Whitt O MY!

Saturday my friend and I went to a car dealership for some Blue Jays player appearance and to get some autographs. Going there we only thought that Ted Lilly and Johnny Mac were comming and I was pretty happy for that, but when we got there we learnt about something else. Not only was Lilly and McDonald there but also Ernie Whitt and Cito Gaston!

We quickly got autographs of them all and got some pictures taken, one of which is going to be on bluejays.com.

Wonder turned into curiosity as we kept seeing a couple people with hockey sticks. Hockey sticks?! I was about to make fun of a kid for bringing a stick by saying wrong sport buddy, but I soon saw a sign that said Jason Spezza was there!

So that was my day got some nice autos
from some Jays and Spezza!

Going to the game tomorrw, hope McDonald remembers to toss me a ball!

In A Slump

Right now the Jays are in a slump and not even grand salamis could help them, but faith still continues.

Also going to a couple games enxt week which will end a long streak of not going to games (last one June 27). I'll post stories pictures and funny junk later about the games until then it might be slow posting.

Losing...

Nobody like losing wheter its losing something you like, losing someone you love or watching someone you like or love lose. Well thats how I'm feeling right now as I watch the Jays to lose crucial road games to beatable teams like the Mariners.

Comming into this 10 game road trip and losing 2 out of 3 already the Jays are 21-24 on the road, which is a pretty good record for most teams, but not the Jays. If we want to make it to the playoffs we need to win especially get ground when the Red Sox lose like last night.

Hitting is something that the Jays don't have problems with since they are one of the best hitting teams in the league, its just leaving men in scoring posistion like they often did this passt series leaving 20 of them on base.

We just need to relax and let the Jays take a lot out of the A's and Yanks and what better way to do it than with one of my favourite Jays Ted Lilly.

Predictions Evaluated

Getting back to my predictions I was 11-4 in predicting teams to win, however my scoring was pretty wild and was often misjudged, my best score predicted was the Nationals Pirates game which ended 7-6 Pirates and my prediction was 7-5 Pirates. Anway I might keep going with these prediction since I was pretty good with my 1st.

My Wish

All I wanted to do this baseball season was to go to an extra innings game. My wish would have come true if I didn't have to go up north that weekend and I would have seen 2 extra inning games. So other than that I have nothing to say, besides GO JAYS GO!

Back From the Break and Time to Work

Well the all-star break has ended and the Jays are back to work tonight against the Mariners and fan favourite Ichiro. As for the game the Jays could easily win if they shutdown Ichiro and maintain early runs and get to the Mariners bullpen, if not then we're screwed.

Guys to keep your eyes on would be Aaron hill who's been hitting over .500 in July and Gregg Zaun whos in the lineup tonight. The Jays need this win to stay in contendtion in the AL East as the Red Sox face the A's and hopefull pick up more ground on their 4.5 games back of the Sox.

Before the game I predicted an easy 6-3 Jays victory, but it isn't looking so good as Hill messed an easy DP and its 3-0 Mariners after 1.

Let's go Casey and let's get a win out there!

Ok 1st Post Let's Make it Good

Alright so I'm making this blog because I'm bored and like to write especially about sports.

I'm a huge Jays fan and can't wait for them to make the playoffs this year. Usually I'm watching Jays games and when I can make it to games I'm more worried about something else rather than a Jays win. What is that you might ask, well its snagging baseballs during batting practice because I'm too cheap to buy baseline tickets to snah balls during a game. Before when I went to games I never tried to snag baseballs but one day while I was on the interent I ran into a blog on mlb.com and it changed my thoughts on going to baseball games. What was this site? Well its none other than the Base Ball Collector Zack Hample who got me started in snagging balls.
